History of cookware
Proper cookware forms an essential part of a well to do kitchen setup. In the initial time when human kind was yet to develop, people used to sur vive on sticks and stones to burn and lit fire for cooking food. They used to store the food items in the animal parts as there were no vessels to store or cook food.
Development of mankind
Gradually, as the world developed and so did the mankind, the concept of creating pottery came in when the control on fire was discovered. This created a revolution of clay vessels by moulding and then burning them into vessels that could hold food and water. This was the beginning of pottery and ceramics. These vessels were of course with many shortcomings out of which the main was the brittle nature of the clay pottery.
Improvement to ceramic shortcomings
This led to inclusion of other strong material like iron, copper, aluminum and now Teflon to make the vessel strong. The vessels were made of these materials, but the ceramic era never really ended, but instead its importance to cookware was realized more and more lately.
The ceramic based cooking vessels were made because ceramic has an excellent capability of distributing the heat evenly which makes cooking uniformly without burning the food. Along with that, there is no chemical and poisonous gas released when the ceramic cookware is exposed to heat. The best part about ceramic cookware is their aesthetics and appearance as these look extremely good for today’s modern kitchens. Due to all the favorable properties of ceramic cookware, people are switching more and more toward these and anyway from the famous Teflon cookware which were extremely famous some time back.
Hindrance of ceramic cookware
Out of all the Ceramic Cookware Dangers was its nature of being brittle due to which the cookware could break down very easily. To deal with this shortcoming and Fix Ceramic Cookware there were numerous metal cook wares made that were not as brittle as ceramic or not brittle at all. Even the metal cookware came up with some shortcomings or dangers that were impactful more than the ceramic ones.
Cast iron or ceramic
Cast iron cookware are also brittle but lesser than the ceramics. The issue with the cast iron is that they get rusted and their manufacturing process creates a hell lot of pollution. They get hot too quickly and too great extents that they need a heat proof handle to be handled. The cast iron cookware is heavy because the metal is itself very heavy in contrast to the ceramic cookware that is not that heavy.
Other metal cookware or ceramic
Metals like copper and aluminum actually form a part of our body’s mineral content and are necessary for the optimal functioning of the body. But using the cookware made of these metals increase the consumption of these metals resulting in excess of this metal content in our body.
There is no such scenario in the ceramic cookware. The metal cookware tend to release some poisonous gases when hot which tends to reduce the nutritious value of the food and acts as a slow poison to our human body.
That is why though ceramic cookware is brittle and weak; they are the safest form to be used regularly.
Rise of ceramic cookware
The ceramic cookware was found to be weak and hence people switched to other forms of cookware that were stronger but had many other downsides that were fatal to human body. That is why, the importance of ceramics never really went down as they are the only ones with 100 safety and no dangerous side effects.
Also, as the technology upgradation happened, the ceramic cookware was made stranger but maintaining the safety precautions so that the cooking in the cookware is till completely healthy.
Today’s eating habits are more towards healthy and nutritious food and that is why the importance of cookware has tremendously witnessed a surge with adequate properties that are not harmful. Ceramic cookware fits the best in this domain and hence is the highly demanded set of cookware in the market today.
